Welcome

Welcome to the FEBS Cutting-Edge Workshop on Immunometabolism!

Welcome to the first FEBS Cutting-Edge Workshop, a new FEBS initiative designed to highlight the most exciting and rapidly advancing topics in molecular life sciences. The theme of this inaugural workshop is immunometabolism, an exciting and rapidly evolving field that explores the dynamic interplay between metabolism and immunity. This meeting brings together some of the most distinguished scientists in the field in a setting designed to foster meaningful interaction between junior and senior researchers.

Over the past decade, immunometabolism has transformed our understanding of immune regulation, revealing how metabolic pathways shape immune cell activation, differentiation, and function. These discoveries are opening new perspectives for understanding and treating a wide range of diseases, including inflammation, infection, cancer, and metabolic disorders.

A key goal of this workshop is to bring the next generation of scientists into direct contact with the pioneers shaping the field today and to create a highly interactive environment. We will achieve this not only through keynote lectures, poster sessions, and short talks selected from submitted abstracts, but also through informal discussions, networking, and mentoring, including sessions at the beach where students and postdocs can engage directly with leading scientists in the field.

Held in Veli Lošinj, on the island of Lošinj, Croatia, one of the most beautiful areas of the Mediterranean, the workshop will also offer the opportunity to experience Croatian hospitality, enjoy local cuisine, and discover the natural beauty of Lošinj, including from the sea during an organised boat excursion.

We warmly welcome you to enjoy cutting-edge science and inspiring discussions with leaders in the field, in the unique setting of Lošinj – the Island of Vitality.
